OUR SERVICES

Homeowners interested in improving their home’s health and energy performance should consider starting with an assessment of their home’s energy use and air quality. These assessments will identify the range of energy and air quality issues in the home as well as help with selecting effective and affordable solutions.

HOME HEALTH ENERGY AUDITS

A home energy audit involves identifying the locations where air is leaking; checking the insulation; and inspecting fuel-burning appliances and heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment to ensure that they are working properly.

DUCT TESTING & CLEANING

In addition to quantifying how leaky (or inefficient) a home’s HVAC ductwork is, Eco Home Services’ BPI certified professionals can clean and seal a home’s ductwork as part of a comprehensive service plan to maximize energy efficiency, provide cleaner indoor air quality, and uncover any potential health/safety concerns.

HERS RATERS - HOME ENERGY RATING

The RESNET HERS Index is the industry standard by which a home’s energy efficiency is measured and is the nationally recognized system for inspecting and calculating a homes’ energy performance.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY TESTING

Our Indoor Air Quality Testing draws on our in-depth Building Science expertise and utilizes the best indoor air quality testing technology to assess your home’s IAQ and determine the specific quality of your air currently. We can then analyze the findings and recommend steps you can take to maintain or improve your Indoor Air Quality.

RADON TESTING

Eco Home Services performs radon testing to measure the radon concentration in homes. Radon is a colorless, odorless, radioactive gas that can pose significant health risk, including cancer, to those who are exposed to it. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), radon is the leading cause of cancer among non-smokers and the second most common cause of lung cancer in the United States.

Financial assistance available for those who qualify.

THERMAL IMAGING

Our energy professionals use thermography as a tool to help detect heat losses and air leakage in your home. Thermography uses specially designed infrared video or still cameras to make images (called thermograms) that show surface heat variations and detect heat loss and air leakage in building envelopes.

COMBUSTION APPLIANCE TESTING

A combustion safety test assesses the air flow and potential leakage related to mechanical appliances that burn natural gas or fuel oil to ensure that dangerous gases, including carbon monoxide, are properly vented outside the home.

ATTIC INSULATION

With 90% of U.S. homes estimated to be under-insulated*, there is a good chance your home is one of them. Adding proper insulation is one of the most cost-effective ways to reduce a home’s energy usage, lower heating and cooling costs, prevent unwanted noises, improve indoor air quality, and maintain more consistent indoor temperatures year-round. Our trained and experienced professionals will evaluate your home to determine the right insulation solution. We can also consult with you about utilizing any local utility rebates and energy tax credits to help lower the cost of your home insulation installation project.

*Estimate developed by the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association. Under-insulated here means when compared to the minimum prescriptive wall and ceiling insulation R-values found in the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code.
